Plaster cracking rarely has a single cause. The defect can come from shrinkage, movement in the background, excessive water, rapid drying, inadequate curing, application thickness, workmanship or the properties of the plaster sand used in the mortar. The right approach is therefore diagnostic: identify how and where the crack formed, then check whether the mix materials and site conditions support that explanation.
